Volunteers united to clean up a Derbyshire canal which has seen complaints about its condition in the past.

They worked on the waterside at Renishaw, with members of Chesterfield Canal Trust, to fish out rushes and collect a dozen bags of litter.

It is hoped that the canal section – which was restored in 2009 – will soon be refilled from the River Rother.
