Doncaster’s Sir Nigel Gresley Square was packed on Saturday as demonstrators gathered to express opposition to the political party UKIP.

Supporters of the group Stand Up to UKIP waved placards during the demonstration at Waterdale, before marching to Doncaster Racecourse, where UKIP held its annual conference this weekend.

Roads were closed and police put on an extra 60 officers to ensure the march went peacefully.

Among those protesting were health campaigners and community activists who were demanding to know why UKIP is not opposing the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership - a trade agreement between the EU and US which protestors claim could break-up the NHS.
