Def Leppard's Rick proves to be a real euro star - AUDIO INTERVIEW
DEF Leppard superstar Rick Savage has raised more than £6,000 for two Sheffield charities - by selling off his cast-off clothes.
The bass player in the Sheffield rock band handed over two envelopes, each containing four thousand euros, to representatives of Sheffield Children's Hospital and Cash for Kids, the charity formerly known as Help A Hallam Child.
The donation came after Rick auctioned his stage clothes from the band's latest US tour.

Rick, a patron of Sheffield Children's Hospital, told The Star: "At the end of our US tour I was going to throw out some old clothes when I got the idea that maybe we could auction them off, maybe through the fan club.
"But I was amazed by the response - the amount of money some people would pay!
"One T-shirt, which probably cost 3, went for about 1,000! I think it will be an ongoing thing now that we will do now."
Def Leppard were back in their home town for a double-headed gig with Whitesnake at the Arena last night.
Rick added: "I always love playing in Sheffield, and it is usually quite a relief to get on stage as it's the only time the phone doesn't keep going!
"We last played here two years ago. We did two gigs, one in London and one in Sheffield - but this is a proper UK tour.
"You are always a little more conscious when it is Sheffield because you know there are a lot of friends and family out there. But the Sheffield audience has always been one of the best to us."
