A tree-mendous seasonal display has branched out into the aisles of a Rotherham church.

This year 18 trees at the church have been decorated in an ‘around the world’ theme by local groups, including cubs, brownies, schools and Women’s Institute members.

Eileen Leeson, development officer at Holy Trinity Church and community centre, said: “This is the twelfth festival we have done and everyone involved seems to have really enjoyed it.

“The vast majority of the decorations were handmade by the groups that took part so it’s all come from people’s imaginations.

“We have trees representing countries including Norway, America, Holland and Germany.”

The Christmas Tree Festival commenced with a light switch on.

The display will remain at the church throughout this week for visitors to view.
