CHATSWORTH’S Dowager Duchess of Devonshire is set to reveal her favourite books as part of a new BBC series.
Deborah Devonshire, nicknamed ‘Debo’ who is the last surviving Mitford sister, is choosing her top five literary works for the show ‘My Life In Books’, which starts at the end of next month.
The programme, based on Radio Four’s Desert Island Discs, will be filmed in front of a studio audience and presented by Anne Robinson.
Each guest will make five choices which illustrate aspects of their childhood, as well as crucial moments of their personal and professional lives.
The Dowager Duchess is no stranger to the world of literature. She has penned over 10 books herself, while her sister Nancy’s works include classic novel Love In A Cold Climate.
