A FATHER-in-law from Sheffield who died from cancer funded a money-raising trip to Mount Kilimanjaro for Cancer Research UK.
Joe Walker, who worked for the Post Office as a driver, paid for daughter-in-law, Debbie Walker’s trek up Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro, which she will undertake on Wednesday.
Debbie, 47, from Lincolnshire, visits the Peak District most weekends to indulge her passion for walking and climbing. She lost both her mother, Pauline Pickford, and her father-in-law, Joe, to the illness in the past year.
She said: “Joe made it possible for me to go on this trek. I know they will both be very proud of me for raising money for Cancer Research UK.”
