TRADE unionists have organised a seminar in Sheffield to discuss the impact of the Government’s Health and Social Care Bill on the NHS.
The event, held by Unison, is taking place on Monday at Club Baize, West Street, Beighton, between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
Rob Demaine, regional head of health at Unison, who will be speaking at the event, said: “The Government is forcing through massive change. It’s not just the threat of privatisation contained in the Health Bill, it is all the untried and untested changes and cuts that are being made now which are putting the very fabric of our NHS at risk.”
Speakers at the event include Labour shadow health secretary John Healey, MP for Sheffield Central Paul Blomfield, and Dr Richard Watton, a Sheffield GP.
