The death of a man whose body was found behind a house in South Yorkshire is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.
Officers were called to a property on Hollowgate, near Rotherham town centre, at around 7.30am on Thursday, and discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 50s.
A post-mortem examination concluded the man died from ‘significant chest and abdominal injuries’, and that he had also suffered a head injury.
But a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Following further enquiries carried out today, including additional examinations of the area where the body was discovered, police believe that no one else was involved in the man’s death.”
A file is now being prepared for the coroner.
