Leading immigration service provider Fragomen welcomed former home secretary David Blunkett to its Sheffield office to receive his input on Brexit and immigration.
The ex-Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough MP, currently professor of politics in practice at the University of Sheffield, visited Fragomen’s office to hold talks with immigration professionals.
During the visit he took part in a podcast recording with Fragomen’s UK managing partner Caron Pope. Together they discussed the immigration, economic and political impacts of Brexit, as well as the effects on the UK’s relationship with other European Union countries. The recording will be provided to businesses to help them prepare for the eventual changes in immigration regulations. It will also highlight different scenarios that may play out for EU nationals living in the UK, and UK nationals living in other EU countries.
Mr Blunkett also met with Fragomen’s teams, including solicitors, immigration professionals and support staff. The meet and greet was followed by a networking reception with Yorkshire-themed refreshments.
Fragomen recently published its ‘Helping business prepare for Brexit’ survey report, which features helpful recommendations and tips on what businesses can do to plan for the upcoming changes to immigration policies.
The report is available on the company’s Brexit website at www.fragomen.com/Brexit. The firm has also created a ‘Brexit Task Force’ who can be contacted at email@example.com
