Date is set for Lewis’s funeral

The funeral of Doncaster schoolboy Lewis Eddleston is due to take place tomorrow.

Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend the service at St Aidan’s Church, Wheatley Hills, tomorrow afternoon before a burial at Rose Hill.

The 13-year-old, who lived in Wilberforce Road, Clay Lane, died earlier this month. He was found drowned in a ditch on rough ground behind the Tesco superstore at Edenthorpe.

He had been out with friends before going off on his own as darkness fell.

It was three days before his body was discovered by a friend of his family, after they had criticised the police search for Lewis, a pupil at Hungerhill School.

A post mortem examination showed Lewis died from drowning and there were no suspicious circumstances. An inquest has been adjourned for toxicology test results.
