A post office that was taken over by a community group was set to be given a clean bill of health at a meeting today.
Darnall’s facility has been run by the Darnall Forum since it stepped in after the post office closed in 2009.
Tonight the forum’s annual meeting is due to be told that it is now officially a success, following an auditor’s report.
Neil Bishop, forum manager and officer in charge of the post office, said: “Thanks to the hard work of our staff and support and confidence of our trustees – who stood by the post office during its early days when things were not easy – the post office has now begun to repay its debts to the charity.”
Residents are invited to have their say about the forum’s work from 5pm at the post office today.
