A SHEFFIELD dance company is launching a new course which is the only one of its kind in the county.

The part-time training scheme at Hype Dance Company will equip young dancers with the skills, knowledge and techniques to carry on learning full time or to enter the professional dance world.

Students will train for three days a week and, on completion, are awarded with a company diploma acknowledging their achievements.

The course begins in September at the city centre academy.

Artistic director Anna Olejnicki said: “We have a proven track record in training and have been asked for some time why we don’t do this.

“There’s such a wealth of talent in Sheffield and surrounding areas.

“Young dancers now won’t have to move away from home - we’re bringing the best to Sheffield to teach them.”
