An event designed to kick the fun back into football will be held at the U-Mix Centre in Sheffield today.
Internationally-renowned football freestyler Dan Magness, presenter of Soccer AM and star of his own Sky Sports 1 series, will host the FURD Football Circus, where he will attempt to break one of his many world records, as well as participating in a host of freestyle football activities and stunts.
In 2009, Dan - who has performed half-time shows for many Premiership football clubs and has appeared alongside some of the biggest names in world football - became the first person in the world to keep a ball in the air for 24 hours without dropping it.
The event will run from 1-5pm and will also include numerous other football-related activities which everybody can get involved in, including keepy-up and cross-bar challenges, Head Tennis, Football Golf, FIFA X-Box Competitions and zorbing. The day is part of a wider research project that has been exploring the ways in which young people follow contemporary football and is funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council.
