A Doncaster town centre shoplifter has been given a chance to tackle his drug addiction after he was caught twice in a week.
Lee O’Malley, aged 25, of Westminster House, Lothian Road, Intake, admitted the two thefts when he appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court.
The magistrates were told he he was on bail for stealing £17 worth of food from the Poundland shop when he went into Boyes in Duke Street and took chocolates.
He fully admitted both offences.
Richard Davis, defending, said he was motivated to become drug free and wanted to start seeing his 18-month-old child again.
“He is very keen to sort himself out,” he added.
He was given a nine-month drug rehabilitation order and a 12-month supervision order.
