A father and daughter are teaming up to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks and raise money for charity.
Rhi Watkins, aged 21, is to walk the 25-mile route on Thursday, September 12, with her father, 54-year-old Alun Watkins, to raise money for the Goldigger Trust.
Rhi, a former Sheffield Hallam University student who is a project worker for the trust said: “I am definitely not the walking type, and this is not something that will be easy for me or my dad, but I’m excited to push myself out of my comfort zone and raise money for a cause close to my heart.”
The Goldigger Trust was set up more than eight years ago to work with teenagers in schools and at youth projects across Sheffield.
It aims to give them positive messages about sex and relationships and raise their self-esteem, confidence and aspirations.
The trust runs two eight-week courses for boys and girls and trains youth workers and professionals to run the courses across the United Kingdom.
The pair, from Nether Edge, want to complete the walk in less than 12 hours.
