A ‘community wall,’ where Sheffield people can promote events and activities or display art and information, has been unveiled in a city centre store.
John Lewis Sheffield hopes the new dedicated space - in the Barker’s Pool store’s restaurant - will help to raise awareness of what is happening locally.
Liz Hogan, community liaison coordinator at the store, said: “It is great that we can use our shop space for the benefit of the community, treating them to stunning displays and helping them to share and promote information.”
Community groups, schools and charities are invited to submit requests to the shop for use of the wall space which can also include art displays, collages and photographic exhibitions.
A-level work from schools around the city and featured at the Sheffield Young Artists exhibition, has taken centre stage on the community wall this month.
