Four Sheffield friends are to use pedal power to raise money for the city’s Children’s Hospital.

Steven Fox, Peter Holdaway and Paul Deeks, all from Totley, together with Steven Howe, from Fulwood, plan to cycle 250 miles over the weekend.

They are due to cycle the two Yorkshire legs of the Tour de France - Leeds to Harrogate then York to Sheffield.

In 2011 the cyclists completed the 155 mile Coast to Coast route.

Both Steven Fox and Paul Deeks spent time in the hospital as children.

Steven, aged 37, said: “We would like to show our gratitude for the effort the staff put in on a daily basis on our region’s children.”
