Cyclist knocked out in Peak fall

A MOUNTAIN biker was airlifted to hospital after losing consciousness in a fall during a descent near Ladybower Reservoir.

The 36-year-old was picked up by the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and flown to a nearby road where an ambulance drove him to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

Members of Edale Mountain Rescue Team were also involved in the rescue.

Meanwhile a man walking in the Peak District rang the emergency services for help when he realised he was lost on Kinder Scout.

Volunteers from Kinder, Buxton and Glossop mountain rescue teams answered his call for help and eventually found him near to Kinder Downfall.

He had become disorientated in the poor visibility.
