Cyclist, 13, hurt in road smash

A SCHOOLBOY suffered serious injuries when he was knocked off his bike in a road smash.

The 13-year-old was travelling down Newman Road in Wincobank, Sheffield, when he was hit by a silver Nissa Micra driven by a woman, aged 21.

The collision between the car and the bike happened close to the junction with Eccles Street.

During the accident, the youngster also crashed into a parked silver Audi A3, police said.

He was taken to hospital.

The Nissan Micra was travelling uphill on Newman Road at the time of the incident on Wednesday at around 4.40pm.
