Cycling trio halfway to destination
A TRIO of South Yorkshire cyclists met up with an army of pals to mark the halfway point on their fundraising journey from Land's End to John O'Groats.
Graham White of Mexborough, Paul McNamara from Swinton, and Mick Rimmer from Tickhill were joined by cycling pals – and even given an escort by bikers – as they made their way through South Yorkshire.
The cyclists, who are raising cash for the Aurora Centre in Mexborough and Rotherham Cancer Care, travelled from Sheffield station through Rotherham to Parkgate Retail World where a reception was laid on by volunteers fundraising for Rotherham Cancer Care.
Then it was on to Mexborough town centre for another reception by volunteers fundraising for the Aurora Centre which provides non-clinical therapies for cancer patients in the Mexborough Montagu Hospital.
Finally the trio went to the New Beginnings Centre in Warmsworth, Doncaster, escorted by Yorkshire members of the GoldWing Owners' Club of Great Britain, a motorbike club renowned for its charity work around the UK.
