A 170-mile hike has raised almost £5,000 for St Luke’s Hospice, after a team of pedal pushers from Sheffield Council, and city company Jenx, cycled coast-to-coast.

The team, headed by the council’s head of city centre, CCTV, markets and events, Richard Eyre, were seen off on their three-day travels by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Coun Denise Fox.

“This was a fantastic achievement,” said hospice Corporate Fundraising Manager Joasia Lesniak.

“We are delighted that so many people wanted to join Richard to take up the challenge of making a real difference to the lives of St Luke’s patients and their families.”
