Cryer the Crier gets festival under way - PICTURES

A FEAST of fun was enjoyed by residents of a Sheffield housing estate at a community festival took place at the weekend.

Aptly-named town crier Henry Cryer called people living on Lower Manor and Woodthorpe to the event at Woodthorpe Primary School.

Once inside, there was face painting, people in fancy dress including a stilt walker, sports including golf, a car boot sale and disco.

Standing out among the stalls was one run by Woodthorpe Development Trust Art Group, whose members Peggy Bottom and Pat Rawson were selling paintings created by its members.

The event was organised by Woodthorpe Development Trust and landlord Acis Group.
