Snooker fans hoping to see live World Championship action in Sheffield later this month are being urged to buy their tickets soon to avoid missing out.
Tickets for the annual event at the Crucible Theatre in the city centre are selling at a record rate, with many sessions already fully booked.
The World Championship runs from Saturday, April 20, to Monday, May 6, with 32 of the top players in the world competing for the £250,000 prize.
And fans are being urged to sign up quickly or face disappointment.
A spokesman for World Snooker said: “We have already smashed records for ticket sales and are still seeing the level of sales rising every day. Anyone who wants to buy a ticket must hurry as time is running out.
“The Sheffield experience is unique and magical – if you’ve never been before then now is the time.”
All eyes will be on Sheffield when former world number one four-time World Champion Ronnie ‘The Rocket’ O’Sullivan makes his comeback after a self -mposed exile from the sport to defend his title, while current world number one Mark Selby also has his eyes on winning the title for the first time.
The spokesman said: “The sense of anticipation around this Championship is incredible.
“It’s an open field and there have been 10 different winners from the 10 ranking events so far this season.
“Everyone is waiting to see how Ronnie fares on his return and there is no doubt the best place to be to witness history in the making is inside the arena itself.”
