THE wife of a man gunned down on his doorstep has paid tribute to her husband.
Gill Woodhead spoke about her 42-year-old husband, Tyron, following his death on Wednesday last week.
He was shot at his home on Doncaster Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, on September 20 but lost his fight for life.
His wife said: “As a family we are devastated by Tyron’s death. He battled on for nearly a month before he died.
“He was so strong and loved by many people.
“We cannot believe what has happened, and our family will never be the same again.
“He was a great husband and dad to Shannon, and his parents Jim and Jen miss him so very much.
“Our many friends and family have rallied round and helped us through this very difficult time.”
Two men were charged with attempted murder before his death.
Police are awaiting guidance from the Crown Prosecution Service over whether the charges should change.
