VIDEO: Police crackdown on Sheffield gang culture

WATCH OUR FOOTAGE FROM THE RAIDS.

Police were this afternoon carrying out a series of raids in Sheffield following a spate of gang-related activity.

Several arrests were made and weapons and drugs recovered at a number of properties in the Parson Cross area of the city.

Superintendent Shaun Morley, who was leading today’s operation, said: “We want to provide reassurance to members of the local community that we’re taking the recent increase in organised criminality very seriously.

“This is the latest in a long line of tactics we’re undertaking to disrupt organised criminal activity in this part of Sheffield.

“We hope our presence on the streets will act as a visible deterrent to those involved in gang-related activity.”
