Two youths caught trying to steal lead

TWO youths were arrested after the South Yorkshire Police helicopter crew spotted crooks trying to steal lead from the roof of a church in Ecclesfield. The culprits ran off but officers on the ground were directed to them from the helicopter monitoring their movements from above.

POLICE are investigating thefts of central heating systems from two empty properties in Sheffield. One was taken from Overend Road, Gleadless Valley, and the other from Fraser Road, Woodseats. Call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

THE bonnet was stolen from a Land Rover parked outside a house on Alexandra Road, Lowfield, Sheffield. In Norton, two men and a woman were arrested for trying to steal a car on Little Norton Lane.

POLICE were alerted after an attempt was made to force open the front door of a house on Lowedges Crescent, Lowedges, Sheffield. The would-be burglar did not get into the property.

A SCOOTER found burning in a park off Queen Mary Road, Manor, Sheffield, and a Vauxhall Astra found alight on Thurcroft Road, Shiregreen, had both been set alight by arsonists.
