Train services between Sheffield and Liverpool are being cancelled tomorrow due to a shortage of drivers.
Operator East Midlands Trains has announced it will be unable to provide any trains on its East Midlands Parkway to Liverpool route.
The journey is also one of Sheffield’s two regular fast services to Manchester.
Passengers are warned that alternative trains provided by First TransPennine Express and Northern Rail are expected to be busier than usual.
East Midlands Trains has apologised for the disruption which the company said is due to its agreement with drivers for no compulsory shifts on Sundays.
Instead, drivers are paid overtime to man services and there has been a shortage of volunteers available this weekend.
