a THUG has been sent to custody for assaulting a Good Samaritan who tried to break up a fight in a pub.
James Edge, pictured, was among a group involved in an attack on an 18-year-old who intervened in a fight at The Angel Inn, Killamarsh, in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The victim suffered a broken jaw.
Twenty-year-old Edge, of Marrison Drive, Killamarsh, denied affray, but was convicted after a trial at Derby Crown Court.
He was sentenced to 12 months in a young offenders’ institution.
