POLICE were called out to deal with two assaults on the same street within the space of just over an hour.
Officers were alerted to the first attack on Corporation Street in Chesterfield town centre at 1.25am yesterday, after a man was found unconscious on the ground.
The 21-year-old, from Danesmoor, was revived and taken to hospital with a jaw injury.
Police said he had been standing outside the Aruba nightclub when he was attacked.
A group of men had walked past him, then one of them returned and punched him in the face – knocking him to the ground.
The attacker walked off to a nearby taxi rank and was driven away from the scene, leaving his injured victim slumped on the ground.
The thug was white, in his 20s, and wearing a grey top and grey trousers.
Just over an hour later, at 2.35am, police were called to the same street after two other men were assaulted in a brawl.
The men – 20 and 23 – both suffered head injuries, and one had a tooth knocked out. Both were taken to hospital.
Three men were arrested.
