A third man has been arrested today over the murder of a man gunned down in Sheffield.

The 20-year-old, held on suspicion of murder, was arrested this morning over the death of 25-year-old Jordan Thomas, who was shot in a car at the junction of Derek Dooley Way and The Parkway.

Jordan, from Firshill, was the passenger in a silver Ford Modeo sat at traffic lights when the car was targeted on Sunday, December 21.

He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

The driver of the car was also shot but survived the gun attack.

Mohammed Asif Yousaf, 32, of Violet Bank Road, Nether Edge, Sheffield, has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Jordan and the attempted murder of the driver of the vehicle - a 27-year-old man.

He appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today and was remanded in custody.

A trial date of Monday, June 15 has been set.

A 25-year-old man also arrested in connection with the death remains on bail pending further inquiries.
