Two Sheffield men who robbed a group of teenagers of their mobile phones and wallets have been jailed.
Grant Mawbey, aged 22, and Bradley Fagan, 19, robbed three 16-year-old boys after driving up to them as they stood outside the Greendale Shopping Centre in Dronfield, in May.
The robbers threw a soft drink can at one of their victims, hitting him in the face, Derby Crown Court was told.
But the offenders were tracked down after the father of one of the victims turned up and took down the registration of the car as it was driving off.
Fagan, of Lupton Road, Lowedges and Mawbey, of Reney Walk, Greenhill, were both sentenced to 16 months in a young offenders’ institution after pleading guilty to three counts of robbery
Mawbey, who also admitted taking a vehicle without consent and driving without insurance, was banned from driving for two years as part of his sentence.
The robbery took place on May 21.
