Teens charged after joint police probe in Sheffield and Rotherham

Two teenagers have been remanded in custody following a joint operation involving police in Sheffield and Rotherham.

Alex Whittingham, aged 18, of Topham Street, Lowedges, is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent and no insurance.

A 17-year-old boy from Pitsmoor, is also charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent.

Both appeared at Rotherham Magistrates’ on Thursday and were remanded in custody until their next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on April 17.

A 16-year-old boy Handsworth, also arrested on suspicion of burglary, has been bailed by police pending further enquiries.
