A TEENAGER accused of murdering two former Sheffield University students holidaying in America has confessed to the killings, court documents have revealed.

Shawn Tyson, aged 16, allegedly told another inmate ‘I did it’ when he was being held on suspicion of murdering James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24, in Florida in April.

In a recorded phone he was also allegedly heard saying: “They found the bullets. That’s the only thing that’s gonna mess me up.”

The court documents reveal a taxi driver picked up the two former Sheffield University students and drove them to the crime-plagued area where they were shot dead.

They had reportedly wanted to go to a late night store after a night out.

Both were forced to strip before being murdered and were found shirtless and with their trousers down, according to the court papers.

James Cooper graduated from Sheffield University in 2009 with a BA in management, while James Kouzaris studied a three year BA in Urban Studies Planning, followed by a 12-month masters in Urban Studies and Planning which he completed in 2008.
