Teenage quad bike rider suffers fractures in crash with car on Sheffield road

A TEENAGE boy was taken to hospital with a fractured leg and wrist after the quad bike he was riding was involved in a collision with a car in Sheffield.

The 15-year-old and his 14-year-old passenger were travelling along Berners Road, Arbourthorne, when they were involved in a collision with a Mercedes C200 at the junction with Arbourthorne Road.

Police said the car, driven by a 33-year-old woman, had been travelling towards Gleadless Common and that the quad bike is believed to have failed to stop at the junction.

The injured quad bike rider, a local boy, was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital with fractures.

His passenger and the car driver both escaped unharmed.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident 659 of October 6.
