A teenage girl was being quizzed by detectives after being arrested on suspicion of murder in Sheffield and assisting an offender.

The 16-year-old remained in custody yesterday after she was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the death of 23-year-old Joe Walker, of Intake, Sheffield, who was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday.

He was attacked on land just off Raynald Road, Manor Top.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named because of his age, has been charged with the murder and is remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court next month.

Anyone with information about the murder should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 263 of September 21.
