A police probe is underway into a spate of criminal damage in which a fleet of taxis belonging to a South Yorkshire firm was attacked.
The five vehicles, belonging to Wombwell firm J and M Taxis, were vandalised sometime overnight between Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6.
They had their tyres slashed during the attack, leaving the business owner with a £500 repair bill.
The vehicles were parked at Parklands Nursing Home in Park Street, Wombwell, at the time.
A man in a dark-coloured hooded top and dark shorts was running from the vehicles at around 6.10am on Sunday, September 6.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police in Barnsley are appealing for information after the tyres were slashed on a number of vehicles causing around £500 of damage.
“The vehicles were situated in a car park at Parklands Nursing Home in Park Street, Wombwell
“A witness reported seeing a man in a dark-coloured hooded top and dark shorts running from the vehicles.”
