South Yorkshire’s Chief Constable David Crompton carried out four home visits with a special team tackling Barnsley’s most problematic families.

A police sergeant and two council officers work together to tackle issues including anti-social behaviour, getting children back into school and reducing the demand placed on the emergency services.

Mr Crompton said: “The priority for the team is improving the negative impact that the families have on their neighbours.”
