South Yorkshire firefighters called to three arson attacks in one night

Firefighters in South Yorkshire were called out to three arson attacks on the same night.

The first blaze involved a mattress and some rubbish which were set alight in the garden of a house on James Street, Barnsley, at 7.30am on Thursday.

Firefighters from Cudworth extinguished the flames before they spread.

Thirty minutes later a pile of rubbish was set on fire on Verona Rise, Darfield, Barnsley and at 11.15pm an old settee and rubbish were torched in a garden on Fitzwilliam Road, Eastwood, Rotherham.
