Two men arrested over a shooting on a Sheffield street have been bailed by police pending further inquiries.
The suspects, aged 33 and 27, were arrested after a gun was fired in Oxford Street, Upperthorpe, in daylight nearly two weeks ago.
Eyewitnesses told police there was an altercation in the street, and the gun may have been discharged when it was dropped during a scuffle.
Armed police responded to a 999 call about the incident, and part of Oxford Street was cordoned off while officers searched the area and an forensic examination of the scene was carried out.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Two men have been arrested in connection with a dispute between two men in Oxford Street, Sheffield, on Thursday, September 5.
“A 33-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, both from Sheffield, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. Nobody was injured.
“The men have been bailed while police inquiries continue.”
