CHED Evans was Sheffield United’s star striker but today he begins a five-year jail sentence for rape and we take a look at his rise and fall.

It comes as the sentencing judge told Evans he had thorwn away a successful career.

1988, December 28 - Chedwyn Michael Evans born in St Asaph, Denbighshire, Wales;

2002 - joins Manchester City’s youth academy, where he meets Clayton McDonald, following collapse of Chester City’s youth system;

2007, February 6 - makes Wales under-21s debut, scoring twice in a 4-0 win in Northern Ireland;

2007, September 25 - makes Manchester City debut in a 1-0 Carling Cup home win against Norwich City;

2007, November 20 - scores a hat-trick as Wales under-21s beat France under-21s 4-2 in Cardiff;

2007, November 21 - joins Norwich City on loan;

2007, November 27 - makes Norwich City debut as a second-half substitute in a 3-1 win at Blackpool in the Championship;

2011, June - arrested and quizzed on suspicion of rape;

2011, July 31 - Evans releases a statement through Sheffield United revealing he has been charged with rape;

2012, March 28 - scores first senior hat-trick as Sheffield United beat local rivals Chesterfield 4-1;
