A 25-year-old Sheffield man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of Grant Bodell.

Torrington Smith, of Samuel Close, Norfolk Park, is accused of killing the 23-year-old father-of-two.

Magistrates sent the case to crown court, where he will appear on April 22. He has been remanded in custody.

Mr Bodell, of Windy House Lane, Manor, was found with gunshot wounds on wasteland near Queen Mary Road in the early hours of Saturday, June 21 last year.

He was rushed to hospital by ambulance but could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Four other men remain on bail after being arrested by police in connection with the murder.
