Sheffield man attacked in his own home

A Sheffield man has been left extremely shaken after he was viciously attacked in his own home.

The 32-year-old man was left with serious injuries following the assault at his home on Smelter Wood Road on Tuesday, January 27.

At 9pm that night, police received reports that an unknown man had entered the home of the 32-year-old.

They believe the assault then took place, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

Det Con Chris Campbell said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have information, or who may have been in the Smelter Wood Road area at the time, to come forward and assist with our investigation.

“This was a particularly vicious attack that has left the victim very shaken.

“I want to reassure the local community that we are doing all we can to identify the person responsible.”

The unknown man is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall in his late twenties.
