A BURGLAR has been jailed for six years after he broke into a home and threatened a family with a knife.
Darren Shackleton, aged 40, was one of two thugs who forced the front door of a house and burst inside.
The pair threatened the occupants – a couple, with two young children upstairs – with a knife and demanded cash. They then fled with £250 taken from a wallet.
But the 37-year-old man of the house gave chase and Shackleton was arrested by a police officer moments later.
Shackleton, of Queen Street, Worksop, was convicted following a trial of aggravated burglary at the address in Back Park Place, Worksop, on Friday, June 22, at about 10.30pm.
