Sex offender has been off South Yorkshire Police ‘radar’ for 18 months

A convicted sex offender who failed to notify South Yorkshire Police of his change of address is to be featured on Crimewatch last night.

Peter Whiteley, aged 50, served time in jail for a sex offence and was released with various conditions, including informing the police every time he changes his address.

He moved out of a property on Exchange Street, Doncaster, in June 2013 and has not been since.

Whiteley is white, 5ft 11ins tall and slim.

He has grey hair which, when he was last seen, was curly and collar-length. He has blue eyes and teeth missing from the bottom set

DC Lynette Temperton-Ball said: “Whitely has been off the radar for over 18 months with no sightings or anyone hearing from him.

“It is imperative we locate him to ensure he is not a risk to others, or to himself.”
