A BURGLAR who broke into a north Derbyshire pub and confessed to 13 other break-ins has been jailed for nearly a year.
Billy Barber, aged 18, of Leen Valley Drive, Shirebrook, broke into the disused King of Diamonds on Langwith Road on July 8 and was arrested at the scene after officers caught him attempting to steal scrap to sell.
He told officers about 13 other shed and garage burglaries he had committed in the Shirebrook area and asked for them to be taken into consideration at a sentencing hearing.
Barber was also charged with allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in Shirebrook Market Place on April 21 and fraud after he tried to pay a stolen cheque into his bank account.
He admitted all the offences and was jailed for a combined total of 51 weeks at a hearing at Derby Crown Court.
