A SECOND man has been charged with the shooting of a man gunned down on his doorstep.

Stephen Barry Rodgers, aged 29, from Thurnscoe, is accused of attempted murder and robbery following a gun attack which left 42-year-old Tyrone Woodhead fighting for life.

Mr Woodhead, of Doncaster Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, was shot on his doorstep on Thursday, September 20.

Rodgers, who was arrested in Southport, Merseyside, last Thursday, appeared at Rotherham Magistrates court yesterday.

He was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, October 29.

Nathan Wingfield, 22, of no fixed abode, was charged with attempted murder, robbery and aggravated burglary earlier this month.

He is also remanded in custody.
