Two robbers escaped with ‘substantial’ amount of cash from a bank in Hathersage this morning.

The raiders struck at the Royal Bank of Scotland on Main Road just before 9am.

They made off with a substantial amount of money and left the bank carrying a holdall.

The duo turned left out of the bank and made off towards the village.

They were described as scruffy, wearing hooded tops with the hoods worn up.

Members of the public are asked to contact police if they saw the men in the area at 9.05am this morning or saw anything suspicious last night.
