A MAN who robbed a travel agency after threatening staff with a knife has been jailed for nine years.
Alan Roberts, aged 40, from Garston, Liverpool, struck at Co-op Travel in Clay Cross, Chesterfield, in October last year.
He was arrested after his fingerprints were found in the getaway car used in the robbery, which was later recovered by police. Roberts denied robbery but was found guilty after a trial at Derby Crown Court.
Investigating officer DC Annetta Difelice said: “I am pleased with the sentence which clearly reflects the seriousness of the crime.
“I am happy for the victims who were subjected to a terrifying ordeal and thank them for the resilience they displayed throughout the investigation.”
