POLICE have warned youngsters about the dangers of throwing stones from bridges after five youths were spotted hurling missiles at vehicles in Chesterfield.
They were spotted on Horns Bridge, above the A61 in Chesterfield, last Thursday.
Sergeant Mark Pearson, who is in charge of Safer Neighbourhood policing in Birchwood, said: “We would like to remind youngsters the dangers of throwing anything from bridges into traffic below.
“This could cause a serious accident resulting in injuries to innocent motorists.
“Throwing even small stones could cause a windscreen to shatter which could lead to an accident.”
