A POLICE crackdown on off-road biking has led to the seizure of 20 motorbikes in and around Hoyland.
Officers from Hoyland Safer Neighbourhood Team took the bikes from riders using them illegally on roads and pavements and causing a nuisance.
The issue is a policing priority for the team after a number of complaints from residents in the Barnsley village.
In addition to seizing 20 bikes, 18 riders were issued with official warnings during the crackdown.
PCSO Mick Mason said: “We have many increased patrols put in place to tackle this issue and we would like to send a clear message that anyone found using an off-road bike in an anti-social manner will have their bike seized and further actions through the courts may be taken.”
